Analogue comes from the idea of writing about gameplay mechanics. They're the fundamental parts of the game we play. They are the tools we use to tell stories in the games we make. They are the essence of game design and they've been around for as long as games have (which is a very long time!). So, at the risk of being a little old-school, Analogue felt like a fitting name.
